I know it's been almost a week since the 2nd presidential debates, but I've wanted to post about this, here, ever since the day after the debate; and today, Sunday, 21 October 2012, I'm finally getting to it. Sorry for the delay. Here's what I've been wanting to post...
The day after October 16th's second debate between President Obama and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, MS-NBC's Chris Matthews interviewed JAMES LIPTON, of Inside the Actor's Studio fame, on his "Hardball" program. I like Lipton, but I must say that even I was surprised by how both succinctly and well he sized-up Mitt Romney.
James Lipton, host of Bravo's "Inside the Actor's Studio," deftly sizes-up presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on MS-NBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" on the day after the 2nd presidential debate.
Lipton: "Last night -- I've been coming to this conclusion for some time -- but last night I suddenly said 'yes, that's who he is.' He is that boss who tells lame jokes and then waits for everyone else to laugh... or else; and who keeps us forever off-balance, uncertain and anxious. And that, for me... that is who he is... he is that boss."
After more discussion and clips from the debate, Lipton said that he thinks America is faced with a very clear choice: Does America want a president, or does it want that boss?
On the Reid Report page featuring this video, commenter "Pamela" wrote: "Non Political James Lipton explains Romney so well that EVERYONE who votes should watch this video. This entire clip, including the debate examples, strips away all the noise from both sides and provides clear, concise facts about who each candidate is. Anyone who is undecided NEEDS to see this! Thank you, James Lipton!"
And on that same page, commenter Karen wrote: "Mitt Romney looks down on everyone. He is a narcissist and that’s what they do. They are incapable of normal, equal human relationships. They have no empathy, only fake it, which is why he made the Libya blunder, the binders-of-women blunder, and was so rude to the President. He doesn’t have a natural instinct for how people will take things and what is appropriate, because those cogs in his machinery, that most of us take for granted, are simply missing."
